Grey Bruce Health Services is expanding its virtual urgent care program.
The service allows people who need medical advice but can’t get in to their family physician or aren’t sick enough to go to an emergency department, to connect virtually with a doctor through a computer or smart device.
“Patients can receive medical advice, prescriptions and sick notes when appropriate,” a statement from Grey Bruce Health Services explains. “Wait times currently sit at approximately 35 minutes per patient, while the average consultation takes under 20 minutes.”
Feedback from patients has been positive since the virtual urgent care program first launched in March, Grey Bruce Health Services says.
As of today (Sept. 15), the virtual care program will be available six days a week from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
