This time they’re coming for the streaming services.
Starting Canada Day, Netflix customers will start to notice a higher bill.
It’s unknown at this point exactly how much, but B.C. and Manitoba just enacted a 7% tax so expect it to be in that ballpark.
Netflix won’t be the only service to get taxed…all international streaming services that are available in Canada will be affected due to a recent change in Canada’s tax law.
The new tax is estimated to bring in between $1-$3 billion in revenue over the next 5 years.
