New test results are back from the Ministry of Environment and they confirm the presence of toxins or mycrocystins in the water at Lake Rosalind and Marl Lake near Hanover.
Samples were taken August 22nd by the MOE and analyzed.
They initially confirmed that a blue-green algae bloom was still present in the water, and further testing showed the toxins.
Grey Bruce Health Unit, Public Health Manager Bob Hart says because of the new results from the Ministry, they are continuing the advisory to residents not to use the water from Lake Rosalind or Marl Lake.
The advisory is against swimming, drinking, cooking, bathing or showering.
Officials say domestic water treatment and or boiling do not provide protection from blue-green algae toxins.
Bob Hart says privately conducted tests funded by the Lake Rosalind Property Owners Association earlier in August prompted the Ministry to conduct tests of their own earlier than planned.
The Property Owners Association says results from a private lab indicate the level of toxins created by the blooms were well below drinking water standards.
But the Grey Bruce Health Unit says that is not the case, and their advisory remains in place.
Lake Rosalind also tested positive for blue-green algae back in 2006 and in 2011.
