We know now all the candidates running in the October 27th election in municipalities across Huron County.
Friday was the deadline to file nomination papers.
In South Huron, Maureen Cole will be challenging Jim Dietrich for Mayor. Dave Frayne, Drew Robertson, and Cathy Seip will be running for Deputy Mayor
There will be three candidates running for Reeve of North Huron. They are Bernie Bailey, Neil G Vincent, Steve Hill
As for North Huron Council, four people are running for two spots in the Blyth Ward Councillor, six people are running for two spots in the East Wawanosh Ward and five people are running for two spots in the Wingham Ward.
Mayor of Morris-Turnberry Paul Gowing is seeking re-election and is challenged by Jamie McCallum. Ten candidates are running for five seats in council
Bernie MacLellan will continue to be Mayor of Huron East as his seat will be acclaimed. Same goes for Deputy Mayor Joe Steffler. He did have an opponent but Andrew Flowers withdrew his candidacy.
Two candidates are running for Reeve of Howick. Rosemary Rognvaldson and Art Versteeg are announced their candidacy. Deputy Mayor Robert Clarkson will be challenged by Shelley Miller- Cameron. Four candidates are running for three seats in council.
The biggest race for mayor is in the township of Bluewater as four candidates have announced their candidacy.
Incumbent Mayor Bill Dowson will run against current Deputy Mayor Paul Klopp, Councillor Tyler Hessel, and President of the Huron Perth Landowners Association Cindy Moyer
As for Deputy Mayor of Bluewater, former councillors Jim Ferguson and Peter Walden are vying for the position. There are also ten names on the nomination register for the position of councillor.
In Central Huron, Jim Ginn will once again be Mayor as he is running unopposed.
In the Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh municipality. Mayor Ben Van Diepenbeek is seeking re-election against Shawn Drennan.
As for council seats in the ACW, four people are going for two seats in the Ashfield Ward, three people are going for two seats in the Wawanosh Ward and four people are going for two seats in the Colborne Ward.
The Municipalities of Huron County are AshfieldColborneWawanosh, Bluewater, Central Huron, Howick, Huron East, Morris-Turnberry, North Huron, South Huron and the town of Goderich.
