There will be a changing of the guard at the Bruce Grey Catholic School Board.
After more 30 years in education — Bruce MacPherson is getting ready to start a new chapter in his life.
He will retire as the Director of Education at the end of July.
MacPherson has spent his entire career with the Bruce Grey Catholic School Board.
He started as a teacher at St. Basil’s in Owen Sound and then became principal, supervisory officer and spent the last five years as Director of Education.
MacPherson says he takes great pride in all of the students he has taught and he calls them his greatest career achievements.
He says being student focused has always been a priority for him because he feels it’s the key to success in education.
MacPherson hopes retirement may actually provide him with new opportunities to support Catholic education.
MacPherson says retirement is not the end of his journey but rather the beginning of a new one.
