“Bruce Grey Simcoe…Always In Season.”
That’s the name and slogan the Brandworks team has chosen to represent Regional Tourism Organization 7.
Michael Clancy — Executive Creative Director of Brandworks for RT07 — unveiled the name, slogan and brand new logo at a town hall style meeting in Owen Sound on Wednesday.
The logo is a wave-like shape that represents the water, mountains and escarpment that define our region — and incorporates the colours of all 4 seasons.
Clancy says they wanted something clear and straight forward that tells people where the area is — and “The Always In Season” slogan will change depending on who they’re marketing to and what time of year it is.
He notes they spent a year touring the three counties, shot thousands of photos, and spoke to hundreds of people to come up with an identity.
Clancy — who is from Toronto — says he had no idea how much the region had to offer, and they are marketing Bruce Grey Simcoe to people in the GTA as a premier tourism destination.
He says people know about the skiing and beaches here, but he wants them to explore and experience things like hiking adventures, the rustic charm of the area — and of course, the people.
Jeffrey Schmidt — the Executive Director of RTO7 — is focusing on the web-based marketing of Bruce Grey Simcoe.
Schmidt says they are rolling out an on-line contest later in March — encouraging people who live, work and play here to submit photos and videos of what they love to do in the area.
For now, all of the information on the branding and contest is available at www.BruceGreySimcoe.com.
but Schmidt says they’re working on a new website to roll out in a few weeks.
