There is a new generator at the Wiarton and District Community Centre.
The generator is now hardwired at the Centre.
Officials in South Bruce Peninsula say the Centre may now be used as an evacuation centre in the event of an emergency.
The municipality received funding from the provincial Joint Emergency Preparedness Program (JEPP).
Council says the funding has been pivotal to finish this important project.
