The Hanover and District Hospital is getting ready to feel the crunch.
Hospital CEO Katrina Wilson says the Drummond Report a reality check for health care.
Wilson says the proposed 2.5 per cent cap on health care spending will be difficult since they are use to 6 to 7 per cent funding each year.
Wilson says it will mean major changes for hospitals — and it will require the communities support and understanding.
Wilson says public needs to understand that health care can’t continue to grow the way it is without some kind of change.
The report also calls on hospitals to place a heavier focus on acute care and increase the use of home based care.
Wilson notes the Hanover and District Hospital is already striving towards that care.
Wilson says the Drummond Report also reinforces the need to continue to move forward to integrate, collaborate and cooperate throughout.
