The Bruce County Public Library is staying on top of new technology.
Former Director Marzio Apolloni says they have 20 new Sony eReaders, and they’ve sent at least one to each library in the county.
He says they are available for you to check out — just like a book.
Apolloni says a few years ago, the library started getting into e-books in a big way, and has been building its catalogue of e-book titles.
Apolloni says they have pre-loaded all of the eReaders with 100 titles, and you can take them home for up to two weeks to discover how they work.
He says the electronics are coming down in price, so this is a good way for people to test drive one and see if they’d like to buy one before spending the money.
Apolloni adds if you do have one — the library is accessible to you 24/7.
He says you can go to their website, plug in your eReader, and it will walk you through checking out an e-book.
Apolloni says it will stay on your reader for two weeks, and you can check out up to five titles at one time.
The eReaders are now available for loan.
