It’s back to work for local Conservative MPP’s Bill Walker, Lisa Thompson and Jim Wilson as the Ontario legislature resumes today.
Walker tells Bayshore Broadcasting News he is going to focus on the spending by the Liberal government.
The first time MPP says people know they have to pay taxes — but he says we all want to know our money is being used wisely by our provincial government.
Walker also notes he is going to keep an eye on the costs incurred by the closing of the Owen Sound and Walkerton jails.
He feels decisions like the jail closures are being made based on urban reality with little or no understanding by the decision makers about the reality of rural living.
Walker points to auto insurance as another example.
The Conservative MPP claims it will cost his 17 year old son 47 hundred dollars a year for insurance for his own car — and Walker calls that ludicrous for rural Ontario.
Walker and his Tory party will also attack the Liberals over a criminal investigation into the province’s troubled air ambulance service.
