Here is a chance for you to rate the Ontario Provincial Police.
The O-P-P is conducting a community satisfaction survey in areas where policing is serviced by the Ontario Provincial Police.
Acting Inspector Cathy Bell says it is a good opportunity for the public to offer their view in how good of job they are doing.
She says they use the results from that survey to improve the service in the community.
She also says the results will also help the O-P-P understand the communities that they serve and understand their perception what the O-P-P does.
Bell says the range of questions in the survey go from what the O-P-P does to whether the interaction with officers was positive or negative.
She says the overall results they have received have been positive.
Bell says the participants are chosen at random and the personal information they acquire is kept confidential.
But she says the responses can be shared by the detachment commander.
Bell tells Bayshore Broadcasting News the results do have an impact on how the local detachments operate.
She says they will compare the results with the strategic plans of individual detachments and it can impact the overall strategic plan for the province.
She says over 96 percent of the respondents say that they felt safe or very safe in their community.
She says those kinds of results are very important to the O-P-P.
The survey is expected to be completed by March 31st with the results released this spring.
