Some people are anxious to apply for a job at the new GRS Wood Products plant in Chesley, but the company is not ready to hire just yet.
Tony Zhang is the General Manager of the Chesley GRS plant.
Zhang tells Bayshore Broadcasting News he has been approached by people in the parking lot of the old Durham Furniture plant, wanting to give him a resume.
Zhang has taken them, but says they won’t be ready to do any hiring until late March.
For now GRS Wood products — which bought the old plant in January — is busy getting the factory in shape.
Zhang says some engineers from overseas will come to Chesley to set up and test equipment and train workers in the next few months.
Initially, Mayor Paul Eagleson says the wood flooring plant will employ about 50 people but that is expected to grow to about 300 in a few years.
