It cost almost 170 thousand dollars to cover the salaries and expenses of Hanover Council for 2011.
Mayor Kathi Maskell earned over 53 thousand dollars — that includes an extra 8 thousand dollars in per diems that she earned over the last four years that were missed.
Deputy Mayor Bob White earned 38 thousand dollars — 20 thousand of which is for his work on Grey County Council.
The other Councillors earned an average of 15 and a half thousand dollars after expenses.
Mayor Kathi Maskell feels Hanover ratepayers are getting good value for their dollar.
She says being on Council is more than just attending a few meetings — since they do a lot of preparation work behind the scenes.
Maskell adds Hanover is fortunate to have such a versatile and hardworking council.
