The Regional Tourism Organization 7 is looking for a new board member.
Executive Director Jeff Schmidt says they have a 15 person board, and need to fill a vacancy for Grey County.
Schmidt says the board is made up of three representatives for each of Bruce, Grey and Simcoe counties, and six at-large positions.
He says for this vacancy, they need someone who lives in or owns a business in Grey County.
Schmidt says they’re looking for someone who has broad knowledge of the local tourism industry and experience as a director of a not-for-profit organization.
He says the board meets bi-weekly for a half-day or full-day, and directors are also expected to volunteer time on special committees.
The RTO7 is responsible for managing and representing tourism, and implementing strategies for the Grey, Bruce and Simcoe region.
The provincial government divided Ontario into 13 geographical locations to provide local management to grow and promote local tourism.
