A 45 year old man from Owen Sound is in hot water after being stopped by police.
Owen Sound police say the man allegedly spent Friday drinking heavily and still decided to drive his car at night.
They say he side swiped a vehicle stopped at a stop sign in the 300 block of 11th Street East last night and then collided with the rear of a parked car.
All vehicles received substantial damage but no one was hurt.
Despite attempts by citizens to stop him, he left the scene but was located by police nearby.
He was then arrested for failing to remain at the scene of an accident.
A breath sample four times the legal limit proved he had been drinking and driving.
Further investigation revealed he was driving without insurance.
The man’s car was towed, and his license was suspended.
The man has been charged with impaired driving, failing to stop at accident and driving with no insurance.
He’ll appear in court in mid-February.
