A generous donation from a long-time Chesley resident is bringing the Chesley Medical Clinic closer to completion.
Building Committee Member Ron Oswald says 92 year old Bruce Krug has donated 100-thousand dollars to the fundraising committee.
Oswald says that brings their total fundraising to 990-thousand dollars at this point.
Their goal is 1.3-million dollars.
Oswald says Bruce is the last original member of the Krug family in Chesley, and they have been an important cornerstone in the community.
He says the family was first established in Chesley in 1886, and employed up to 600 people at a large furniture manufacturing company.
When the Chesley Medical Clinic was first built in 1998, the Krug family donated to that build, and Bruce Krug contacted the fundraising committee saying he’d like to help again this time.
Oswald says the new facility is going to be a beautiful building that Chesley can be proud of.
He says staff will start moving in near the end of February, and they hope to open up sometime shortly after that.
