The old PPG site in Owen Sound will soon be flattened to the ground.
A salvage company has bought the property and is moving to sell off equipment and some of the buildings.
The Middleman and Broker in the sale is Jack Johnston of Burlington.
Johnston tells Bayshore Broadcasting News his client bought the former PPG location at the end of December and they will move as quickly as possible to clear the land.
Johnston says he is waiting for a demolition permit from city hall and once that is approved he’ll start selling everything off.
Johnston says there are conveyor belt systems, dust collectors and plenty of electrical items that can be sold off first.
He is lining up clients who want to purchase whole buildings off the old PPG location and they will be dismantled and re-assembled.
Johnston expects once everything is sold off and the site is completely cleared of any buildings, the new owner will sell off the property.
He declined to name the new owner.
PPG closed about three years ago in Owen Sound.
At one time the facility had 500 workers and it was for sale recently for 6.1 million dollars.
No sale price has been given.
