Fretz’s Valu Mart in Sauble has won a national contest by selling the most Hershey products on a year-to-year basis.
Owner Dave Fretz says the win brought the Stanley Cup to his store this month.
Fretz notes that due to legality issues, they could not advertise the Cup being at the store — but they had a private viewing with staff and several local residents.
He calls is a unique experience, and not something you get to do everyday.
Fretz tells Bayshore Broadcasting News Hershey also provided a one thousand dollar grant for a minor hockey organization of his choosing.
Fretz explains it was a no brainer for him to pick Shallow Lake Minor Hockey, because he has staff that play there, and their parents support the program as well.
He adds it feels good to give back, and to allow kids the opportunity to play minor hockey.
