Three people were taken to hospital following a crash in Owen Sound.
It happened just before 11 AM Friday at the corner of 2nd Avenue and 9th Street West, just metres away from the Owen Sound Police headquarters.
Police say a northbound Hyundai Sante Fe sport utility vehicle, and a westbound Dodge Caravan collided — and the force of the collision was so severe that it caused the Caravan to flip onto its roof and hit a utility pole at the corner.
The people in the Caravan were trapped briefly until fire crews were able to remove the doors and extricate them from the vehicle.
Surprisingly, none were seriously injured however all three occupants were transported to the hospital with non life threatening injuries.
Police attribute the lack of serious injury due to all of the persons involved wearing seatbelts and that the airbags had deployed in the vehicles.
Both vehicles sustained major damage and were towed from the scene.
The collision remains under investigation.
Police would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the collision.
