The Hanover Library wants to better determine the needs of the community.
The Library has been hosting a series of community focus groups with different residents — from teens to seniors.
Library Board Member Deborah Flynn says the input will help develop a strategy for the future.
She notes they have plans to update the Library’s IT infrastructure to balance the needs of regular book readers and future e-book readers.
Flynn feels it’s vital the Library remain relevant for the public and that is why community input is so important.
Over the last 18 months — Flynn notes the Hanover Library has doubled its programming.
Some of the new initiatives include a computer buddies program that links seniors and teens.
There is also a Home School Pilot Project which provides support once a week for home school kids and their parents.
Flynn says they are considering other new programs — including seniors centres and online learning sessions.
