A trustee with the Bluewater public school board admits it’s bad news.
John Chapman — the Hanover West Grey trustee — says they have a bus transportation issue to deal with that could affect their budget.
As we first told you in November — the French Board Consortium is opting out of the shared transportation consortium with Bluewater and the Bruce Grey Catholic Board.
Chapman tells Bayshore Broadcasting News the costs for the remaining boards in the consortium will go up.
As we told you last month — the transportation consortium will review its costs and see if it will impact bus routes for next year.
Chapman is calling on the Business Superintendent to report back to the board as quickly as possible on the economic ramifications.
The move by the French board will affect about 100 students in Owen Sound who attend St. Dominique Savio School.
Those students will still have bus service, but one provided specifically for French speaking students.
