If you want to make difference in the life of homeless person — than drop off some socks at St. Mary’s high school in Owen Sound.
Students are trying to collect as many pairs as they can to send to Toronto to help those living on the streets.
Student Katie Walsh says the sock drive stems from a recent school trip to a Toronto Soup Kitchen, where students received a first hand lesson on the value of clean dry socks.
She says it’s very difficult for homeless people to keep their feet dry.
Walsh hopes the entire community will get behind the sock drive.
Socks as well as financial donations can be dropped off at the school until tomorrow (Dec 23).
The socks will be transported to Toronto by one of the teachers over the Christmas break.
Walsh calls it a small lesson in social justice, a chance for students to make a positive difference in the life of another.
She hopes the spirit of Christmas will move the masses to support this worthy cause.
