Time is running out to nominate someone as Ontario’s Outstanding Young Farmer.
The Young Farmers of Ontario program is celebrating its 32nd year of competition and the deadline for nominations is December 15th.
Co-ordinator Karen Daynard says they are looking for an individual or couple.
To qualify, the nominee must be under the age of 40 and make two thirds of their gross revenue from farming.
Daynard says they must also demonstrate leadership in the agricultural industry with strong safety and environmental practices and strong community involvement.
Daynard says they normally get about 40 nominations each year — and the candidates are always very strong.

The winner will be announced at the Ontario convention in Niagara Falls in March.
The National winner will be announced in November in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island.
