You may have trouble reaching the Owen Sound police service later today.
The main phone lines are being upgraded beginning at 7 PM, and it will take about four hours.
During that upgrade time, the administrative lines at 519-376-1234 will still be operational — however at a reduced capacity for receiving calls.
That means people may receive a busy signal when they call and will need to make another attempt.
Owen Sound Police stress the Emergency 9-1-1 lines are NOT affected.
You are reminded only to dial 9-1-1 in the case of an emergency.
If the call is not an emergency, the caller may be asked to call back on the Administrative line.
While this may be an inconvenience for the caller it will ensure those phone lines and personnel are kept available to answer to potentially life threatening emergencies.
