There was lots of talk about tennis courts, community centres, and lamp posts among other things but there’s still a long way to go in the South Bruce Peninsula capital budget talks.
Mayor John Close says they’ve just started to look at what administrative staff believe should be happening with capital works next year and over the next five years.
Close says before any hard decisions are made, councillors want to see the capital and operating budgets together.
He says they’re not looking to surprise taxpayers.
He hopes they can maintain a zero percent increase in 2012.
Close says even after a bottom line is attained, if it’s too far out of whack, they will likely re-visit the capital budget with the thought of making further cuts.
Another capital budget session is slated for Tuesday, December 6th at 10 AM.
