The Billy Bishop Home and Museum in Owen Sound is celebrating Christmases passed.
Manager Mary Smith says today and tomorrow they will host Victorian Christmas.
She says the museum will look, feel and smell the way it would have when Billy Bishop was a young boy growing up in the house.
Smith says their elves have been working hard to decorate it with homemade ornaments, garland, and ribbons.
She says in actual Victorian times, the family would have cut down a tree and instead of lights they would use candles to decorate it. However, she says that is the one thing they couldn’t do authentically in the museum.
Other than that, there will be activities and crafts for the kids, which includes decorating gingerbread men — and Smith says you can eat your cookie after as well.
Entertainment will be performed Saturday by the Sweet Adelines who will sing Christmas Carols.
On Sunday, the Singing Puppeteers and the Georgian Bay Youth String Quartet will perform.
Smith says Windsong will also provide horse and carriage rides.
The Victorian Christmas event runs from 1 PM until 3 PM Saturday and Sunday, with special admission prices for the weekend.
Children 12 and under free when accompanied by an adult, with up to three children per adult.
