Grey, Bruce and Simcoe counties are looking to build their tourism brand through your input.
A public meeting was held at the Best Western Inn on the Bay in Owen Sound on Wednesday to find new ways to showcase the natural beauty of the region.
The Bruce, Grey and Simcoe area has been dubbed Region 7 by the province — or RT07 — and Brandworks has been hired to name the region.
Executive Creative Director Michael Clancy says the idea is to increase the number of visitors to the region, entice them to spend time here, and come back again.
Clancy says they have already received a lot of feedback and they have toured the region to get an idea of what makes our area so enticing.
He notes the rural country atmosphere offers a laid back retreat that people in big cities don’t often get to experience.
Clancy says they want the brand to highlight the region as a year round tourism destination.
He tells Bayshore Broadcasting News that life seems to slow down in this area, and they want people to come out and just relax in the country atmosphere.
Clancy says they want people to attend their upcoming town-hall style meetings and weigh in on tourism promotion.
He hopes to have a name by the Spring.
The next meeting is Thursday at the Cranberry Resort Bear Estate in Collingwood from 10 AM until 12 noon.
There is also a meeting at the Liberty North Event Facility in Barrie from 2 PM to 4 PM.
