Rallies are planned Wednesday right across Canada in support of Durham area raw milk producer Michael Schmidt.
This week marks the 5th anniversary of the MNR raid on his farm, and the seizing of equipment.
Because of that anniversary — and Schmidts’ scheduled sentencing this Friday in Newmarket on 15 counts related to the production and distribution of raw milk — a rally was organized for Queen’s Park.
News of that rally spread, and Schmidt says supporters decided to hold a rally in each provincial capital at either 11 AM or Noon.
They’ll be handing out raw milk at the rally and showing their support for the right for people to make an informed choice on what to eat.
At Queen’s Park, Michael Schmidt says several MPP’s have indicated they will participate in the rally, but he doubts Premier Dalton McGuinty will show up.
