The Christmas season gets underway this weekend with a number of events in Owen Sound.
A great place to get some Christmas shopping done, and grab some unique gifts, will be at the Fine Craft Christmas Show and Sale.
Organizer and jewellery maker Morag Budgeon started the craft show last year when the Tom Thomson Art Gallery announced it didn’t have the resources to host the event anymore.
Budgeon says the show has been successful and has already grown a great reputation.
She says this year she has over 35 vendors selling woodworks, jewellery, textiles, weaving and furniture, hand-blown glass and pottery.
There will also be maple syrups, the Pickle Guy, and two hot food vendors.
Budgeon adds all of the vendors are local from the Grey-Bruce area.
And she says she’s already been asked by more craftspeople for applications for next year, but she doesn’t want the show to grow too big.
Budgeon says she likes the atmosphere in the Grey Granite Club, and she wants to keep the quality of the crafts high.
The craft show opened last night at the Grey Granite Club, and continues tonight until 5 PM.
Budgeon also encourages you to check out the Harrison Park Community Centre on Sunday from 10 AM to 5 PM for A Very Artsy Christmas Show & Sale.
