Snow has hit our region for the first time this season.
There was just a dusting of snow on some cars in Collingwood this morning.
But about two centimetres of snow fell in northern Grey Bruce and about five to ten centimetres in areas further south.
One resident in Varney says they have about 15 centimetres of snow.
Most of the snow has turned to wet flurries and rainshowers today — but Police and highway crews advise to watch your speed since roads are described as slushy and wet.
Visibility on Friday morning was even described as fair to poor at times in the southern part of Grey Bruce because of the snowfall.
The weather caused downed trees and power lines and knocked out electricity to about a thousand homes in Bruce and Grey Counties — including Tara, Hanover and Durham.
A massive power interruption that hit Huron County and parts of Perth and Middlesex was short-lived.
Hydro One says over 25-thousand customers were without power in an area stretching from Kingsbridge to south of Parkhill, and east to St. Mary’s and Sebringville.
The power went out shortly before 11 AM and the utility had most customers back on-line by Noon on Friday.
