Huron OPP say a 19 year old man from Huron East suffered non-life threatening injuries in a hunting accident.
It happened Tuesday afternoon near Listowel.
The young man had been hunting deer as part of a small group spread throughout the bush.
He apparently tripped in the damp, heavily treed area and while falling accidentally shot himself.
The victim was taken to the Listowel hospital for treatment.
The OPP say the hunter has a valid licence and registration to possess the shotgun.
The Ministry of Natural Resources was contacted about this hunting accident.
