There will be a Doors Open event in Kincardine in 2012.
So says Kincardine councillor Ron Coristine who facilitated a meeting of volunteers earlier this week.
Coristine says about 25 intersted people showed up to express their confidence in the program.
He says the group talked about the challenges that were faced this year when the program was subsequently cancelled and how those issues are overcome in order to accomplish the program for next year.
Coristine says the meeting produced a new committee for 2012 and they’re now on the hunt for a chair or co-chairs.
He says he sensed that those attending Tuesday’s meeting had had their say on the way Doors Open was handled this year and it was time to move forward to see how it could be fixed for 2012.
The program was cancelled just weeks before it was supposed to run with the municipality citing a lack of volunteers.
It created a “he-said-she-said” argument within the municipality with volunteers saying it was a lack of organization on the town’s part.
