Officials from Mother Teresa School in Walkerton are one of 22 elementary schools be honoured today.
School representatives will be in Mississauga today to receive the Bette Stephenson Recognition of Achievement.
The EQAO office is recognizing Mother Teresa for its high EQAO test scores.
The award acknowledge’s their high scores and leadership, positive attitude and sincere effort to help every child succeed.
Dr. Stephenson was the Minister of Education and Colleges and Universities from 1978 to 1985 and an original member of EQAO’s Board of Directors.
The EQAO results for the Bruce Grey Catholic School Board show students are meeting or exceeding the provincial benchmarks in Grade 3 writing and grade 6 reading, writing and math.
Grade 3 reading scores came in just a few percentage points shy of the provincial average.
Grade 3 math scores however took a bigger dip — about six per cent below the provincial average.
