South Bruce Peninsula Paul McKenzie feels the municipality has a revolving door when it comes to keeping staff on the job and he wants to know why.
McKenzie says there’s been a problem for the past 12-years.
He is calling for exit interviews of those people who do leave to see what, if any problem there is and has it played a part in the employee’s departure.
He hopes it will stem the tide for the next three years.
Meanwhile, Councillor Janice Jackson wants to take the issue one step further.
Jackson would like to see a third party firm brought in to interview the current staff on an anonymous basis so they can be candid in what they may believe to be any lingering issues within the municipality.
She says the results could be brought back to council and administration to see what problems need to be addressed.
Town CAO Rhonda Cook doesn’t have a problem with the interviews but she urges council to follow-through on any recommendations they may get.
Cook says there’s no point in employees opening up if the issues are not addressed in a timely manner.
