61 charges have been laid for Private Security Licensing Breaches in Port Elgin, Hanover, London and Thunder Bay.
13 of those charges were laid in Port Elgin including; three counts of working as an unlicensed security guard, and six counts of employing an unlicensed security guard.
In Hanover four charges were laid including one count of working as an unlicensed security guard and two counts of employing an unlicensed security guard.
If convicted of working as unlicensed security guard you are subject to a maximum fine of $25,000 under the PSIS Act and up to one year in custody.
Back on June 9th, 2011 a total of 17 similiar charges were laid in Owen Sound and 20 charges laid in Wasaga Beach by the OPP’s anti-rackets branch.
