Don’t be alarmed if you see the walking dead pass you on the street in downtown Owen Sound today.
Chances are they are out participating in the third annual “Zombie Walk for Food.”
The walk collects food and donations for the Owen Sound Food Bank.
Cameras will also be rolling as Steve Santini compiles footage for his upcoming television show “Deals From the Darkside” which airs on OLN TV November 4th.
To kick off the walk, and get footage for his show, Santini tells us he will be doing an extreme escape involving being pulled by an electric wench towards a running chainsaw.
Santini says it’s pretty high energy stuff but what he does during the escape really depends on the weather.
To see Santini escape the fury of a chainsaw and to take part in the ” Zombie Walk for Food,” you are asked to meet before noon Saturday at Owen Sound City Hall.
Santini came up with “Zombie Walk For Food” three years ago and expects a bigger and better event this time around.
There will be prizes for best/worst dressed zombie.
Pizza Pizza will be donating a free gift certificate for all participating zombies.
And a number of downtown cafe’s (River Cafe, Rocky Raccoon Cafe, and Coffee Culture) will all be offering free in-house coffee to all costumed Zombies.
The “Zombie Walk for Food” event goes from 12 PM to 1 PM.
If you can’t make it out for the walk, donations may be left at Mr Inkbee Grey Bruce, 928 2nd Avenue East.
The walk goes East from City Hall on 8th Street East south on 3rd Avenue East to 10th Street East west on 10th Street East to 2nd Avenue East to the crosswalk at the Metro Plaza then turning South on 2nd Avenue East and returning to City Hall.
