A retirement party is set to go Saturday evening for Grey County OPP media relations officer Steve Starr.
It is being held at Stone Tree Golf and Country Club just south of Owen Sound on Highway 6, beginning at 5:30 PM.
Starr actually left the job this summer and was replaced by Alina Grelik.
He has been the voice of the Chatsworth detachment for seven years as part of his 31 year career in policing.
His career began in 1980 when he was posted with the OPP in Wallaceburg.
Just over a year later, Constable Starr was transferred to Geraldton where he spent five years with the detachment.
From Nov. 1986 until earlier this year, Starr has been with Grey County OPP.

Steve Starr was the Recipient of the 1998 Crime Stoppers International Coordinator of the Year Award — the first time the award was won by a coordinator outside of the USA.
