All tenders have now been let and the Owen Sound Regional Rec Centre is on time and on budget.
Mayor Deb Haswell tells Bayshore Broadcasting News it is just about time to have the Steering committee set up a grand-opening sub-committee.
No date has been set for an Official grand opening of the nearly 39 million dollar facility, and Haswell says it is a bit early yet to pick an exact date.
However, the Mayor says other details can be worked out in the meantime.
Owen Sound received assurances over the summer that all provincial and federal infrastructure money that was promised for the project, would be received.
That means 22 million dollars will be paid for by the senior levels of government, with 9.35 million being debentured by Owen Sound over 17 years.
Construction on the complex is roughly 77 per cent completed, with some six million dollars worth of work still be done before the open in the spring.
