It was a long meeting, but it was a productive one.
South Bruce Peninsula councillor Marilyn Bowman was referring to a meeting held on Monday in Sauble Beach.
The subject was waste management in the community and how it can be handled.
Bowman says microbiologist Garry Palmateer believes he can do a comprehensive study of the issue for South Bruce Peninsula at a reasonable cost.
Bowman didn’t pinpoint a cost for the job without referring to notes she didn’t have available but she said it was cost effective.
She says the chair of the water and sewer ad hoc committee will be bring forward a report to South Bruce Peninsula Council in November and she’s hoping they can proceed.
Bowman believes the report will give them a good picture as to whether or not a sewer system infrastructure is needed in Sauble Beach — something many residents have opposed from the beginning.
Bowman says they had a good turnout of the general public to hear the speaker but no one asked any questions or made any comment.
