The 2011 Owen Sound and District Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards are being handed out on Thursday night.
A record number of businesses are nominated for the 21st edition of the awards night.
There are a total of 69 nominations in 11 categories.
Six businesses have been nominated for the New Business of the Year Award; BC Hughes Inc, Body Therapies, Wholistic Massage for Women, Creative Choices
Georgian Bay Chemical, Green Taxi, and Healthworks.
Nominated for this year’s Business of the Year Award (25 plus employees) is the Best Western Inn on the Bay, Peninsula Ford, D.C. Taylor Jewellers and MacLean Engineering.
And for businesses under 25 employees, there are 12 nominees.
The Awards gala kicks off at 5 PM with cocktails at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre in Owen Sound.
The theme is Vegas-inspired this year, and includes entertainment by Geoff Stevens and the Bluewater Sweet Adelines.
