It seems the Victorious Living Centre in Owen Sound will have heat this winter after all.
A three-day fundraiser has brought in 10 thousand 222 dollars — which should cover the cost of a new furnace for the soup kitchen.
The centre faced the prospect of no heat, before holding the garage sale last Thursday through Saturday.
Spokesperson Ray Botten tells Bayshore Broadcasting News a lot of generous people gave cash during the garage sale next to the Centre on 2nd Avenue East in Owen Sound.
In fact, there are a lot of items left over and they are looking at holding a second garage sale to help pay the hydro and heating costs this winter.
