Library card holders will get first look at the goods in this year’s Owen Sound & North Grey Union Public Library’s Great Annual Book Sale.
For the first time ever, a Members Only Preview Sale will take place Monday night at the library in Owen Sound.
Information Services Librarian Margaret Hodgins says you have to have a library card, and purchase a 10 dollar ticket ahead of time.
Then you can come into the library tonight from 6 PM to 9 PM, and browse the sale with a little more breathing room.
Hodgins says the opening of the sale is usually very heavily attended and crowded, and the library wanted to give its members a chance to peruse in a more relaxed environment.
The annual book sale is an important event each year for the library, as Hodgins says it is their major fund raiser.
She says it wouldn’t be possible without their volunteers who help year-round, and the generous donations from the community.
The Great Annual Book Sale is open to all starting Tuesday until Sunday.
Hodgins expects to sell 10 thousand books over the course of the week.
