There is significant fire damage to the 117 year old Primmer house in Owen Sound.
About 15 firefighters battled flames at the historic Victorian house on 1st Avenue West on Thursday night — and two firefighters remain on spark watch this morning.
No one was home at the time — and witnesses say one of the residents returned home and found a fire in the kitchen.
The fire department says the blaze was fully engulfed by the time they arrived on the scene around 5:50 PM and the flames had spread from the kitchen to the second floor.
But officials say they knocked down the fire fairly quickly since it is an older home.
No one was hurt.
There’s no word on the cause of the fire yet, but it is not suspicious — and investigators will be back on the scene today.
