Bruce County is embarking on a study of selected bridges that they’ve inherited but are located on local roads — not county roads.
County Engineer Brian Knox says the bridges are located in the area of old Greenoch, northwest of Brant Township and southwest of Elderslie.
Knox says there are nine bridges in all and it could cost up to 20-million-dollars to deal with them.
Many of the bridges are about 100 years old, half of which are single lane load-posted spans.
Knox says the County has to decide what to ultimately do with the bridges but they want public input.
To that end, a public meeting will be held Wednesday at 6:30 PM at the Paisley Arena.
