This is Ontario Public Library Week.
The OHL champion Owen Sound Attack will be at the Owen Sound and North Grey Union public library this morning.
Some Attack players are taking part in Library Week — and they will read to kids while also working on hockey themed crafts.
The Hanover Library is also hosting an open house today.
Assistant Librarian Norma Graham invites the public to drop by for some refreshments as well as tours of the library.
Graham says they want to showcase the variety of materials, programs and services that the library has to offer.
Graham hopes everyone will take some time to visit the library this week, and reflect upon the important role it plays in the community.
She points out they offer early literacy programs and computer training for seniors.
The Library is also launching its new and improved library card at 2 PM today.
Mayor Kathi Maskell an avid library user will be issued the first card.
In honour of the week the library is also hosting a Fines Amnesty.
Those with overdue fines can pay up to five dollars of their fines off through non perishable food item donations to the Salvation Army Food Bank.
