The Saugeen Municipal Airport is enjoying a big boost in fuel sales.
Jet A fuel sales are double that of last year.
Airport Director Selwyn Hicks credits the new hydro transmission line and police grow op searches for the fuel increases.
Hicks says the helicopters used to assist with the transmission line work are fueling up at the Hanover airport.
He notes the OPP helicopters and military chopper used in the marijuana searches are also using the airport.
Hicks says this bodes well for the small airport, which heavily relies on fuel sales.
But Hicks is concerned that the Kincardine airport has dropped its fuel prices.
Hicks feels the Saugeen Municipal Airport still has a slight advantage with its restaurant.
He feels many pilots want a place to land where they can get a good meal.
