Walkerton residents can recycle electronics during this weekend’s Fall Fair.
The RecycleYourElectronics.ca tour will be at the fair Sunday from 11 AM until 5 PM to help people get rid of unwanted electronics.
The tour, run by the Ontario Electronic Stewardship, has spent the summer travelling through northern Ontario, and is now making its way through Southern Ontario.
In total, the program collects 44 types of electronic items, including TVs, computers, batteries, cameras, cell phones, speakers, and telephones.
To date, more than 50 thousand tonnes of waste electronics have been diverted from landfills — 350 tonnes were diverted last year.
