A missing Wiarton man has been found.
75 year old Darrel Root is safe, in Tecumseh, Ontario, and Bruce Peninsula OPP say they are reuniting him with his family.
Bayshore Broadcasting News first reported the man missing this morning, after receiving a phone call from his daughter Tammy Root Byers.
She told us her father had decided Tuesday to visit a niece in Michigan, but did not get there.
After that, the last they heard of their father’s whereabouts was when a police officer found him asleep in his car in a parking lot of the Shopper’s Drug Mart in Kingsville.
At that time, he told the police he was lost, but Root-Byers says a missing persons report had not been filed yet.
The family had concerns because the man is on medication and gets easily confused.
No word on how Root ended up in Tecumseh, only that he is safe.
