Bail has been granted to the woman charged in Owen Sound’s first homicide in five years.
46 year old Erin Lees appeared for the first time in person Friday for a bail hearing in the Ontario Superior Court.
Lees was released on 20 thousand dollars bail — and she is scheduled to appear in court again on December 15th.
There’s a number of conditions attached to the bail including; no alcohol or non-prescription drugs, no weapons or firearms and Lees can not associate with certain people.
Lees will be staying at a secure facility in Barrie, recognized by Corrections Canada, with 24 hour supervision.
A publication ban has also been put in place to preserve the integrity of the jury pool.
Lees was charged after her common law husband 34 year old Gary Fernando Caribou died September 10th of his injuries at their home on 4th Avenue East.
The last homicide in Owen Sound was in July of 2006, when James Morelli was convicted of manslaughter and sentenced to five years in prison in connection with the death of Larry Hilsden.
