South Bruce Peninsula is considering holding its committee of the whole and its regular council meetings all on the same day.
Mayor John Close says they’re looking at holding the meetings on the first and third Tuesdays of the month.
Close says the COW meeting would commence at 1:30 PM.
Then there would be a supper break and the regular council meeting would begin at the regular 7 PM time which would deal with issues from two weeks previous.
The Committee is favouring a six-month trial period however they’re after public input.
To that end, Close says a public meeting on the idea will be held at council chambers tonight at 7:15 PM
Close says if they open that two-week period, it will give administrative staff more time to put together reports needed at council meetings.
As it stands right now, South Bruce Peninsula’s Committee of the Whole meetings are an all-day affair held the first and third Tuesdays of the month while regular council meetings are held on the second and fourth Tuesdays.
